Zerona Laser – Zerona Cost and Zerona Reviews
A new non-invasive form of liposuction, known as Zerona cold laser, has been getting great reviews from those who’ve undertaken the laser lipolaser treatment. So what is this “Zerona Laser” non-invasive lipolaser treatment?
What is Zerona Laser?
The Zerona laser system, which was introduced in 2008, is based on low level laser therapy (LLLT) that uses Erchnoia cold laser technology to target subcutaneous fat cells. The energy that is released by the Zerona laser does not heat up the surrounding tissue, hence the term “cold laser”. The laser does this by disrupting the adipose (fat) cell membrane, creating a temporary “pore” which releases cellular content into the interstitial fluid surrounding the cells. The emulsified fatty materials are removed from the interstitial fluid by the lymphatic system, and eliminated by the body as waste product. This cold laser technique does not damage the delicate capillaries in the area being treated.
The results of a pilot study using Zerona’s low level laser technique was presented in 2008 to the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery, and subsequently the procedure received FDA approval for its use in the United States. Other countries such as Canada, Australia and Europe followed suit and also approved the Zerona laser technique for lipolaser non-invasive surgery.
What Are The Benefits Of Using Zerona Laser Instead of Normal Liposuction?
- The Zerona laser body contouring procedure is a much better option when compared with other invasive liposuction surgical procedures, as the patient does not have to have any incisions made as with normal liposuction, that uses a cannula to remove fat cells.
- The Zerona laser reviews show that fat deposits that are highly resistant to diet and lifestyle changes can be eliminated using the Zerona laser.
- Results indicate that on an average, patients lost at least five to six inches from their waists, hips and thighs within a time span of a few weeks.
- The Zerona laser reviews indicate that some patients are known to have lost up to nine inches within the first three weeks of treatment.
- Using the Zerona laser, there are no side effects, downtime, marks, incisions, and no necessity for the wearing compression garments after the procedure.
- There is no bruising, swelling, discomfort, and damage to other tissues as the low laser technique does not rely on heating body tissues to breakdown fat deposits.
- Performed as an outpatient procedure, the Zerona costs are far lower when compared with traditional liposuction.
- As there is no mechanical removal of fat deposits requiring incisions, patients do not need the services of an anesthesiologist.
What are the Side Effects Of Using the Zerona Laser?
While there are no reported Zerona side effects, a few drawbacks of the treatment are:
- The Zerona laser procedure does not guarantee a specific inch loss, other than 3 inches overall, measuring all parts of the body. Each person is different, and the elimination of the emulsified fat from the body by the lymphatic system depends on each

individual’s ability to detoxify the cellular waste product.
- Because Zerona is a relatively new entrant into the cosmetic surgery market, there are no long-term studies that prove the ongoing efficacy of the treatment.
- The Zerona laser treatment to be fully effective needs to be combined with lymphatic massage, re-hydration therapy, a healthy diet and moderate exercise. Some doctors suggest increasing water and fiber intake a few days before treatment to “plump up” the cells and increase the effects of the Zerona laser treatment
- Some patients may require up to six sessions within a timeframe of 2 to 3 weeks to stimulate noticeable fat loss.
What Does the Zerona Laser Cost?
The average cost across the U.S for 6 sessions is $3000. Many cosmetic surgeons and medical practitioners do offer discount packages for six to ten sessions of laser treatment. However, the prices do vary by location, so check with your local cosmetic or plastic surgeon.
How Long Does a Zerona Laser Session Last?
The average duration of a single session lasts for about forty minutes. The duration of the suggested treatment varies on a case-by-case basis depending on the body type of the patient. The minimum suggested treatment period is two weeks, with three full Zerona laser sessions each week.
