Why Trying to Lose Weight On an Empty Stomach Means Empty Results
When it comes to dieting and weight loss there is unfortunately a large group of people who are lead astray into thinking that starving themselves is the way to lose weight. So to be clear and concise, starving yourself is actually extremely unhealthy and the majority of the "weight loss" from it comes from the loss of lean muscle tissue and bone mass. Starvation signals the body to preserve the fat already stored, in an attempt to prepare for any period of starvation, where that fat would eventually be used for maintaining the bodies energy levels.
This monitoring by the body starts with how many meals we eat a day. Your body should never feel really hungry or starving. That is when fat storage begins and the metabolism begins to slow. To avoid this it is recommended that you get around 5-6 well-proportioned meals every day.
The first thing to consider is how much protein you are consuming, on average, every day. It is recommended that you only consume about one gram of protein per pound of body weight if you are participating in high intensity strength and cardio exercise on a weekly basis. If you weigh 150 pounds you should be getting about 150 grams of protein a day spread out over 5-6 meals. So knowing this, you can conclude that each meal should have at least 25 grams of protein in it to ensure full recovery and weight loss.

Healthy Recipes for Weight Loss
A healthy diet is essential for weight loss. While it’s necessary to cut down on fats and calories, your body still needs large amounts of nutritious foods. You need to find healthy recipes for weight loss, and you can also learn to adapt your favorite recipes to replace unhealthy, calorie-laden ingredients with low-fat, nutrient-rich foods.
Many diet programs fail in the long run because they involve boring, tasteless foods. Sometimes they involve eating only one type of food, which we all know is not healthy either. Thus, a successful weight loss program should focus on healthy recipes that promote good eating habits. All it takes is a little effort and imagination to achieve your weight loss goals.

A Review of the hCG Diet
Finding a doctor who will administer real hCG hormone injections will be hard to come by. People who wish to follow this diet will have to turn to the internet to find the hCG hormone in the form of drops. The majority of these products of hCG in droplet form have little to no traces of the actual hCG hormone in them. Dieters will likely find they are starving themselves with no relief from the so-called drops.
This diet when done without medical supervision can be extremely dangerous to the dieter. It is a desperate attempt to lose weight quickly and may cause the dieter to gain more weight than when they started the diet in the first place. Following such a low calorie diet will cause more problems for the dieter than their original battle with weight. It is our opinion that following the hCG diet is not worth the risk and a more balanced life long approach to weight loss will benefit the dieter over the long run.

Belly Fat – Beating the Mid-Line Spread
If you’re fighting the battle of the bulge, you’re not alone. Most of the western world is in the same war against the mid-line spread. Although it hits nearly everyone when they reach middle-age and enter their forties, it is not a losing battle if you can formulate a plan and then (the tricky part) stick to it.
Motivate Yourself
Where do you get your motivation from? Imagine yourself in the physical state of health that you’ve been dreaming of, think of it often. Take time every day to picture your-self fitting into those jeans, or strolling down the beach in that bikini, and loving it. Write out simple daily and weekly goals, put them up on your bathroom mirror or in place where it is a constant reminder of what you are working towards.
Get a Plan of Action
Kick your own butt, get the party moving. Plan your moves but be sure that each goal you make for yourself is attainable as the satisfaction of reaching a goal is a great motivation to keep hitting your target. One goal could be go for a fifteen minute brisk walk every morning, or cut carbohydrates from your dinner, cutting snacks is also an easy first step. As you hit these goals work your way up to bigger goals and watch yourself succeed.
Find the Right Diet
Dieting should not be about starving yourself, a diet consisting of cucumbers, or lemon juice only, puts the body into starvation mode which cause fats to be stored instead of released. Make your diet practical. Cut down on starches but do not exclude them altogether. Substitute sugar and foods containing high sugar levels, with fruits. Include large portions of vegetables and smaller portions of protein in every meal. For some it helps to have six small meals a day instead of three large ones. (And the snacks we tend to sneak in.) If you’re hungry your first line of defence should be to drink water, juice or a healthy vegetable or fruit snack. Cabbage, green teas and lemon juice when added to a healthy diet can aid in weight-loss.

How to Lose Weight In 2 Weeks? 3 Basic Steps That Will Help You
You need to be aware that there is going to be a learning curve when you set out on a plan such as losing weight in 2 weeks. If you are not experienced in weight loss efforts, you may find that this curve is much steeper than you may have expected. Each failure can make it more and more difficult to achieve success. No matter how many times you may have failed in the past, real sustained weight loss is never out of the realm of possibility. The following tips will help you to not only lose weight, but to live a healthier lifestyle.
- Determine the weakest aspects of your weight loss effort. An analogy that may help you is to look at your weight loss effort as a war against your own unhealthy habits. Your ability to target the enemy's weak points is the key to winning any battle. Maybe your weakness is that when you get upset, you turn to food for comfort. Maybe you drink several beers and have a large plate of chilli fries or chicken wings when you go out with your friends. If you really want to lose weight in two weeks, you have to determine your reason for overeating so you can start working to avoid it.
- That brings us to avoiding your temptations. Once you identify what triggers you to overeat, you have the tools in hand to avoid them. One example that most people can relate to is having a shop such as a bakery along their morning commute and being unable to resist grabbing a piece of cake. Careful planning along these lines will make sure that you avoid your temptation. It will be very difficult at first, but the more you do it the easier it will become. While it is much easier to simply avoid that temptation in the beginning, your overall goal will be to conquer it.

Green Tea and Why it Helps in Weight Loss
One of the largest sectors of the health products market is the sale of items to assist in weight loss. One of those weight loss aids is green tea, which due to its popularity among dieters has quickly become a key player in this segment of the health and weight loss industry. Available in a variety of forms, green tea has some unique properties that make it beneficial on many levels for those seeking to lose a few pounds.
The theory behind green tea as a weight loss aid is that helps people to burn off extra calories through a process called thermogenesis. This process of thermogenesis is said to increase the amount of calories a person burns during a day by raising the bodies metabolic rate. While some say this process is more pronounced in the natural green tea, there is still benefit to be gained from drinking decaffeinated green tea, even if not as pronounced as natural green tea.

The Food Pyramid – The Science of Eating Healthily
For all those looking to maintain a healthy balanced diet, the food pyramid was developed to help people plan out the types of foods they should consume on a day to day basis and the proportions of of each food group. The food pyramid doesn't itemize foods, but rather presents a hierarchy of the core groups of foods - Dairy, Vegetable, Protein, Fat, Carbohydrate and Fruits. Each group is sub-divided into member groups such as Dairy, Meat, Poultry, Fish, Eggs, Nuts & Beans in the Protein group, with Bread, Rice, Pasta & Cereal in the carbohydrate group. In earlier times there was a group classification system that indicated the nutritional value in different food groups which was replaced by the food pyramid, which was first published in Denmark in 1978 by the Danish Consumers Co-operative Society (FDB). It was later adopted in 1992 by the United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA).
By making use of the pyramid mnemonic graphic, each zone or level that makes up the pyramid indicates the proportion of foods in each group that should be consumed each day. The top most zone consists of fats, oils and sweets, which should be consumed sparingly, while the bottom zones such as vegetables and pastas can be consumed in greater quantities.
The first group in the food pyramid consists of items providing bulk carbohydrates. Carbohydrates when consumed quickly transform into glucose which provides the body the required energy. Too much carbohydrates in the diet can lead to health problems such as elevated blood sugar levels fluctuate, leaving a person tired and irritable.
The second group on the food pyramid consists vegetables. Vegies are high in vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It is important to consume a variety of vegetables , they each contain minerals and vitamins in different quantities. As an example, carrots are rich in vitamin A, while spinach and red peppers are rich in vitamin C. Doctors’ advise a serving of at least two to three vegetables per day as part of a healthy diet plan. Vegetables are very low in fats and empty calories making them a good choice for those on a weight loss diet.

Natural Appetite Suppressant Foods are Still the Best
Believe it or not, the feeling of hunger is a crucial part of the weight loss process. Unfortunately, there is no possible way to completely eliminate the feeling of hunger. What we can do though is to take it down to a tolerable level. It is not advisable for us to starve ourselves as this will only make our body go into "starvation" mode and that can lead to serious illnesses and disorders if we starve our body of nutrients for too long. Some of the safe things to help suppress our appetite are as follows:
- We should avoid eating food that is rich in refined carbohydrates. Instead we should munch on natural appetite suppressant foods like fresh fruits and green vegetables.
- We should make it a habit to drink at least 8 glasses of water every single day. Water will keep us feeling full for a longer period of time and will also keep us hydrated.
- One helpful thing that we should learn is to avoid panicking at the first sign of hunger. We should condition our bodies to get used to the feeling so that we can avoid overeating.
- Aside from fruits and vegetables, there are also other kinds of food that we can eat to suppress our appetites. Pine nuts are a good example of the best appetite suppressant. It has a sufficient amount of protein and pinolenic acid that can trigger two hunger-suppressing hormones to work. In fact, Siberians make it a habit to include these nuts in their meals to invoke the feeling of fullness.

HCG Weight Loss – Is it a Healthy Weight Loss?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, known as hCG, is a glycoprotein hormone generated during pregnancy. It is traceable in blood after eleven days when a woman gestates and in the urine two weeks after conception. The hormone helps the growing fetus by enabling nutrients to move towards the placenta. But very few people know of the fact that hCG can be found in not only women, but men as well.
hCG Sold as a Diet Product?
There are some companies that provide hCG weight loss kits that they claim can help a person to quickly lose excess weight. They state that it is easy to lose up to one to three pounds every day. In these particular kits, the individuals have to combine HCG shots with a low calorie diet of around five hundred calories a day. But consuming only this amount of calories is well below the recommended daily calorie intake, and does not offer adequate energy for supporting the basic functions of the body, and acts as an obstacle to healthy living. When the body is starved of calories, as in a 500 calorie/day diet it starts to use the stored areas of fat, protein and glycogen. There are usually three types of fat in our bodies – the structural fat, the normal and the abnormal (visceral) fats. The body finds it quite difficult to access the visceral fats even with exercise. This fat ends up surrounding the organs thus augmenting different ailments such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver diseases, and obesity.Categories: Weight Loss Tags: calories, exercise, hcg
